Self Portraits @ Feb Half Term

Thank you to all you amazing boys and girls who came along to Feb Half Term Art Club. What a busy day we had! We started off by sharing our personal objects - what makes us who we are? We looked at the work of portrait artists old and new: Joshua Reynolds, Frida Kahlo, Cindy Sherman, Gilbert & George, Marc Quinn. We experimented with drawing and collage, working on top of photos of ourselves with sharpies and oil pastels. We then experimented with photography, setting up our own compositions. The children LOVED the magic of Polaroid processing! Finally, we shot our own self portraits using a remote timer and an SLR on a tripod.
